EG awarded forfeit win over Triumph in IEM Fall North America
A player sleeping through match time leaves Triumph down 1-2 in Group B.
Evil Geniuses have been given a forfeit victory over Triumph in Group B of IEM Fall North America after Jack "xCeeD" Holiman slept through the starting time of the match.
For Evil Geniuses, the free win is a crucial boon as they previously held a 1-1 record, while for Triumph, the loss comes as a travesty given they managed an upset win over TeamOne on day one, ending with a 1-1 record of their own.
Due to Brendan "Bwills" Williams moving, Triumph were already making use of their registered substitute, Wesley "viz" Harris, and were therefore unable to make up for the no-show of xCeeD.

Insult to injury is added when considering the veto for the match resulted in Nuke being the battleground between the two teams — a map that Evil Geniuses hold a 0% winrate on in the last six months, and is Triumph's best map.
The forfeit also leaves Triumph in a dire spot as their chance to advance top two out of their group is now in jeopardy, which would be the only way for them to guaranteed a berth to the PGL Stockholm Major as they entered IEM Fall with 0 RMR points.
A fifth place finish (1875 points) would not be enough to overtake EXTREMUM, who sit atop the leaderboard with 1880 points, and as such, Triumph's fate would be entirely out of their hands and would be reliant on EXTREMUM placing among the top four.
